If you are a member and your work is registered this is how we will help!

1. We must at first verify your work has been copied. If this happens to be true we then contact the offender to notify them of your possible breach of copyright.

2. The other party has then the right to try and prove it is their copyright. If they fail to prove this within a certain time frame we send an email and/or letter notifying the offender that they have 14 days to stop infringing on your copyright. We also make screenshots of their site and register this for you providing irrefutable proof that the images existed on their site at that moment in time.

3. Should the offender refuse to comply with the request we inform them that the file will be handed over to a lawyer to start judicial procedures. 98% of the offenders refrain immediately from infringing on your copyright.

4. If you wish to go ahead with legal proceedings we have many contacts with lawyers worldwide. We will find you a lawyer in your area who is specialised in Intellectual Property. File-Reg will supply the lawyer with your evidence of copyright free of charge. You will have to pay for this lawyer, however, if the copyright infringement is obvious and you win the case the other party will probably also have to pay for your legal costs, including the fine and/or punitive damages.

5. All your work - any number of registrations remain registered providing your yearly membership is up to date.
