One of the most difficult points about Copyright is legally proving you thought it up in the first place. In a study carried out by File-Reg.Com in 2005 we found that 37% of advertising agencies we interviewed where the victim of plagiarism In 2006 this jumped to 40.2%. This jumped to more then 70% in the broadcasting industry, however in 2006 there has been a slight decrease to 67.5%. This decrease is due to the fact that producers are taking more precautions with their formats, while broadcasting companies try to stay out of the 'plagiarism' limelight.
In another study we found that research data, sensitive information, concepts and information about new production methods are stolen on a regular basis. Few companies register their work, whereby this simple lack of evidence hampers judicial procedures.
The research had shown that 69.6% of blue collar workers stole corporate documents and information, mostly when leaving a company. In 2006 this has risen to 74.8%. Figures are based on the IP theft monitor introduced by File-Reg.
